If you’re willing to step into some vulnerability, then live streaming your sketchnoting work to YouTube (or any other platform) is a great opportunity to 1) force yourself to do the work while avoiding procrastination and perfectionism; and 2) build up an audience of folks who know about and appreciate your work.
I’m currently in the middle of a month-long experiment with live-streamed sketchnoting, and here’s the setup that makes that possible:
Here’s the full set of tools that I’m using:
- MacBook Pro (Mid 2015)
- Nulaxy stand
- iPad Pro and Apple Pencil (first generation)
- The app Concepts
- Blue Yeti microphone
- The live streaming software OBS
I appreciate how lightweight this setup is, and how quickly I can go live.
Throughout the month I’ll continue experimenting with the specific format and content of the live stream, but so far I’m having lots of fun with it.
